A soft toy shaped as a bunny, in minky fabric, for a nursery. It is a comfort object and a room accent, and the rest of this page is about what that means and where it belongs.

Minky Is A Texture, Not Just A Fabric

Minky is a high pile polyester with a deep, dense nap. Babies respond to texture before they respond to shape or color, and a raised pile gives small hands something to grip and stroke in a way a flat plush does not.

The elongated ears are the part a child reaches for first.

The Ears Are The Design

Elongated ears give the toy a graspable feature at each end. On a shape that is otherwise round, that is what turns a cushion into something a child can hold, carry and drag around by.

Filling That Dries Fast

PE hose fiber is a hollow synthetic fill. It resists compressing into lumps and it dries quickly after a wash, which on an object a child will chew, drool on and drop outdoors is the property that decides how long it stays usable.

Keep It Out Of The Sleep Space

This is a toy for supervised, awake time. It should not go into a crib, bassinet or Moses basket with a sleeping baby, and it is not bedding. Safe sleep guidance in the United States and elsewhere is consistent: an infant sleeps best on a firm, flat surface with nothing else in it, because soft objects near a baby's face are a suffocation risk. Use this on a play mat, in a nursery chair or as a decoration on a shelf, and take it out of the crib before sleep. If you want the current guidance in full, the American Academy of Pediatrics publishes it and your pediatrician can talk it through for your child.
