Purple and white, with a hood that is lined and printed on both of its faces. That construction gives you two different garments depending on whether the hood is up or down, and it is the reason this one is worth choosing over a hoodie whose hood is blank on the inside.
Hood Up And Hood Down Are Not The Same Garment
- Down, the lining is what people see. A hood spends most of its life folded back across the shoulders, showing its inner face. Printed, that is artwork; unprinted, it is a patch of plain cloth in the middle of the design.
- Up, the print frames the face. The inside of a raised hood sits in view around the head, so a printed lining changes the whole read of the garment rather than just covering it.
- Double lining also means warmth. Two layers of fleece around the head is a real difference in cold wind, separate from how it looks.
Purple Against White Needs Weight
70% polyester, 27% cotton and 3% elastane at 8.85 oz per square yard, weight varying by up to 5%. Dense cloth is what keeps a strong purple from looking thin next to white: on a lightweight knit the same pairing goes chalky, because the white area lets light through and drags the contrast down. Cotton-feel face outside, brushed fleece inside.
The White Half Is The Half To Watch
Any pale area on a heavy garment worn outdoors picks up marks, and cuffs are where it shows first. Wash inside out, skip the dryer, and treat the white areas the way you would treat a white shirt rather than assuming a printed garment hides everything.
Building An Outfit Around Purple
Purple is a colour most wardrobes do not already answer. Black, charcoal, grey and indigo all sit under it cleanly. Avoid navy, which is close enough to fight it, and avoid brown, which pulls the purple towards dull.
The Hood, The White And The Fit
Can the hoodie be worn inside out? No, and reversible here refers to the hood reading as finished artwork whichever way it sits, not to the garment turning inside out. The seams and the fleece pile are on the inside as usual.
Is the drawstring the same on both sides? The hood carries standard drawstrings through the front, unchanged by the double lining.
Should I take my normal size? Measure first. The cut is relaxed unisex, so the letter size that fits you in a fitted tee is often not the one to take here.
Size Guide
These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Go by your chest. Run a tape around the fullest part with your arms down and keep it level. Waist and hips are listed for anyone whose hips run several inches fuller than their chest, since a hoodie ends at the hip and that is where it can catch.
| Size | Chest | Waist | Hips |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 34⅝ in / 88 cm | 26¾ in / 68 cm | 37 in / 94 cm |
| S | 36¼ in / 92 cm | 28⅜ in / 72 cm | 38⅝ in / 98 cm |
| M | 37¾ in / 96 cm | 29⅞ in / 76 cm | 40⅛ in / 102 cm |
| L | 41 in / 104 cm | 33⅛ in / 84 cm | 43¼ in / 110 cm |
| XL | 44⅛ in / 112 cm | 36¼ in / 92 cm | 46½ in / 118 cm |
| 2XL | 47¼ in / 120 cm | 39⅜ in / 100 cm | 49⅝ in / 126 cm |
| 3XL | 50⅜ in / 128 cm | 42½ in / 108 cm | 52¾ in / 134 cm |
