Product Type: Maxi Dress

Mint or rose: that is the whole decision. The Ashlyn is a tie strap maxi dress printed with small flowers, with lace edging the straps and the empire waist, a second lace band low on the skirt and smocking across the back. It comes in two colorways: a mint floral with touches of lilac and white, and a rose floral in hot pink and coral.

  • Two moods, one cut. Mint reads cool and fresh, rose reads warm and bright.
  • Bands of lace. Lace trim at the bust and above the hem breaks a long skirt into sections.
  • Ties set the fit. Tie the lace-trim straps high or low and the bodice height is yours to choose.

Choosing Between Mint and Rose

Pick by the metal you wear most. Mint has blue in it, so it sits beside silver, white gold and pearls like it was planned that way. Rose is pure warmth and lights up next to yellow gold, tan leather and straw. Match the colorway to your jewelry box and every accessory you own already works with the dress.

Setting matters too. Mint holds up in bright midday sun and looks crisp at a beach lunch. The rose floral has more punch at dusk, under string lights, and in photos where everyone else is wearing neutrals.

What the Lace Bands Do

Horizontal trim on a long dress acts like a ruler: the eye stops at each band. The band under the bust marks a high waist, and the band near the hem gives the long skirt a finish so it never reads as plain yardage. On a tall frame those lines add interest to a long column. On a shorter one, a nude sandal with a bit of height keeps the lower band from cutting the leg line.

The lace is part of the strap as well, so the ties look finished whether you knot them in a bow or a simple square knot.

Smoothing Viscose Creases

Its fabric blends 80% viscose with 20% polyamide. Viscose drapes beautifully and creases readily, so a steamer is your friend: hang it, steam from the inside of the skirt downward, and let it cool before you put it on. Skip a hot iron on the lace bands, since direct heat can flatten the texture of the trim.

It comes in women's S (4/6), M (8/10), L (12/14) and XL (16/18), so a size 10 orders the M and a 14 orders the L. Order by the bust, where the empire seam is shaped; the smocked back gives across the ribs.

Lace Trim Floral Maxi Choices

Mint or rose for a beach day? Mint, if the light is strong and the sand is pale, because cool colors stay crisp in glare. Rose wins at a sunset dinner afterward.

Can it work at the office? On a relaxed summer Friday, yes, with a fitted cardigan over the shoulders and flat sandals, which covers the ties and turns the lace into a soft detail.

How long do the ties hang? Long enough for a full bow with tails, which you can shorten by tying a double knot if you prefer a neater shoulder.
