Product Type: Necklaces

Two curved ribbons of 18K gold plated metal twist into a slim swirl, and two small prong set stones sit inside the curve like drops caught mid-fall. Desiregem makes it with pink rubellite, green tourmaline or white zircon, and the pendant hangs on a chain with a 15 to 18 inch range.

  • Open, airy shape. Light passes through the swirl, so the pendant never looks heavy.
  • Prongs show more stone. Thin claws hold each 3mm gem with its sides open to the light.
  • An October pair. Rubellite and green tourmaline both belong to the tourmaline family, the October birthstone.

The Swirl Pendant Necklace in Motion

A swirl pendant necklace moves the eye along a curve instead of pinning it to one point, which is why it flatters on a bare neckline and under an open collar alike. The two ribbons here cross and part again, and the stones are set at different heights, so the pendant looks a little different from every angle.

Each stone measures 3mm, about 0.12 inch, small enough to keep the piece dainty and big enough to show color. The whole necklace weighs about 3 grams.

Pink, Green or Clear

Rubellite is the pink to red form of tourmaline, and here it reads as a raspberry pink that warms up the gold plating. Green tourmaline is deeper and leafier, lovely with olive, cream and denim. White zircon brings the most sparkle, and one fact helps here: white zircon is a natural mineral, not the same thing as cubic zirconia, which is a lab grown crystal.

Desiregem lists the metal as 18K gold plated brass, a layer of gold over a brass base rather than solid gold. Pink and green look especially warm against that yellow tone.

Where the Swirl Pendant Sits

At 15 inches the swirl sits in the little hollow just under the throat; at 18 it drops to the collarbone, where it shows above most scoop and V-necklines. Prong settings deserve a quick look every few months: if a claw still hugs the stone tightly, the stone stays put, and lifting sweaters off over the head is the moment a claw is most likely to catch, so take the necklace off first.

Rubellite and Tourmaline Swirl Pendant

Is white zircon the same as cubic zirconia? No. Zircon forms in nature and has a strong, lively sparkle, while cubic zirconia is grown in a lab. The names are close, the materials are not.

Is rubellite an October birthstone? Yes, and so is the green version, because both are tourmaline, one of the October stones; white zircon belongs to December.

How small is it in person? The stones are 3mm each and the swirl is slim, so it reads as a delicate accent rather than a centerpiece, ideal for everyday wear and for layering under a longer chain.
