Deep red with the On Fire script running down the front. This one is cut long and loose enough to be worn as a dress or as a long top over leggings, and those are two genuinely different garments bought in one purchase, which is worth knowing before you choose a size.
One Garment, Two Ways To Wear It
- Alone it is a dress. The length and the loose line carry it without anything underneath, and the script becomes the whole statement.
- Over leggings it is a long top. The same garment reads completely differently with a leg covered, and it is the version most people will wear more often.
- The knit keeps its shape either way. 4% spandex gives recovery, so a garment pulled on and off daily does not go slack at the neck and hem.
Script That Runs Down, Not Across
Lettering placed vertically down the body behaves differently on a garment that drapes. As the fabric moves the word moves with it, so it is read in motion rather than sitting flat like a chest print. Sublimation is what makes fine script possible here, because the dye follows the yarn and a thin stroke stays thin instead of thickening the way a pressed letter does.
The Cloth
96% polyester with 4% spandex at 6.19 oz per square yard, in a smooth stretch knit with a drop shoulder and a lowered armhole.
Deep Red Sets The Rules
A strong red dress decides the outfit rather than joining it. Black or charcoal leggings, plain shoes, no second colour. It is not a garment that layers under a coloured jacket, and any attempt to soften it with a pattern underneath will read as indecision.
Fit And Wear Questions
What size should I take? Your usual one. The looseness is built into the pattern rather than achieved by sizing up, and a larger size gives extra length as well as width.
How long is it? Long enough to work as a dress on its own and long enough to cover comfortably when worn over leggings, which is the range this cut is built for.
Will the script crack over time? No. The lettering is dyed into the fabric rather than pressed on, so there is no film across the front to split where the garment folds.
Length Decides Which Garment You Get
These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Take your chest at its fullest with arms down, your waist at its narrowest and your hips at their fullest, keeping the tape level. Each dress is cut and sewn after it is ordered, so a finished one can measure up to an inch away from the chart.
Dress or long top is a length question, and the chart answers it: 34¼ inches at the smallest size, 41 at the largest, with fractions of an inch between them. Ordering a size up will not turn a long top into a dress, because your height decides that and the label barely moves it. Between M and L the chart does jump, by just over three inches, twice any step beneath it.
