Product Type: Evening Gowns

This is the only long-sleeved gown in the range, and that single fact settles a whole category of occasion. The Cinderella Divine Long Sleeve Chiffon A-Line Evening Gown covers the arm to the wrist in chiffon, so it answers a covered-arms dress code without a jacket, a wrap or anything to keep track of all evening.

Sleeves That Weigh Nothing

A long sleeve usually means warmth, and in most fabrics it does. Chiffon at this weight is open enough to pass air, so the arm is covered without being insulated.

That combination is unusual and it is the whole reason to choose this gown. Religious ceremonies, conservative venues and formal daytime events all ask for covered arms, and almost every answer to that question is heavier than the occasion needs.

An A-Line That Does Not Grip

The skirt falls away from the waist without following the hip at any point, which is the most forgiving line in formalwear and the reason this shape works across four bands without a change of cut.

Between the sleeve and the skirt, this gown asks almost nothing of the body underneath it. There is no boning, no close-fitting panel and no cut-out. It is the gown to reach for when comfort across a long evening matters more than sculpture.

Ceremonies and Mother of the Bride

Black, champagne and petal blush are all quiet shades and none of them competes with a bridal party. That places this gown at a wedding as a guest or as mother of the bride, at a religious ceremony, and at a formal daytime event.

What it does not do is make a statement. There is no beading, no slit and no open back anywhere on it. If the evening calls for the gown to be noticed, a plainer shape with a stronger detail will do more than this one will.

Four Bands Three Colors

All three colors are cut across the bands offered.

Size chart, measured in inches
Size Bust (in) Waist (in) Hips (in)
8 36 28 39
10 37 29 40
12 38 30 41
14 40 32 43

Every figure above is in inches and is taken on the body rather than on the finished garment, so measure the fullest part of the bust, the narrowest part of the waist an inch or two above the navel, and the fullest part of the hips.

Measure the upper arm as well, because a sleeve is the one part of a gown a side seam cannot fix. Bust and waist can be brought in or let out at the side; a sleeve that is tight at the bicep needs the whole arm rebuilt. If the bust figure and the arm point in different directions, size to the arm.

Sleeves, Steam and Underlayers

Can the sleeves be shortened to three quarters? Yes, and it is a straightforward hem on an unlined chiffon sleeve. It changes the register of the gown from formal-conservative to something lighter, so try it pinned before committing.

Are the sleeves see-through? Chiffon is a sheer cloth by nature, so expect the arm to read through it as a soft shape. That is how the fabric works rather than a fault in the lining, and it is why the sleeve looks weightless in photographs.

What can be worn underneath? Anything with straps, which makes this the easiest gown here for conventional support. The bodice is opaque and the shoulders are covered, so a standard bra is invisible.

How does chiffon handle a suitcase? It crushes and recovers. Roll it rather than folding it, hang it overnight, and give it steam from a distance if anything remains. An iron glazes chiffon into a shiny patch that cannot be lifted.
