Product Type: Necklaces

Seven tiny stones linked by short gold plated bars trace a little star pattern along the chain, the way a constellation connects points of light across a night sky. Each stone measures 2mm, and Desiregem offers garnet, amethyst, green tourmaline or white zircon; the chain, also 18K gold plated, sets anywhere from 15 to 18 inches.

  • Under three grams. At about 2.7 grams it disappears on the neck once fastened.
  • Color spread sideways. Seven stones across the front instead of one drop in the middle.
  • Anchored at both ends. Rings at each end hold the pattern straight on the chain.

Constellation Necklace Stones and Settings

A constellation necklace usually maps one zodiac sign, and Desiregem presents this one as a star design, a scatter of points joined by fine bars that reads as a little piece of sky without asking you to choose a sign. Every stone sits in its own small prong setting, so the line looks like dots of light rather than a solid bar.

The stones are 2mm each, about 0.08 inch, which is why the piece feels so delicate: from a few feet away you see a twinkle of color, up close you see the pattern.

Tiny Stones and How They Shine

Small stones read as color more than as sparkle, so the garnet, amethyst and green tourmaline versions give a soft wash of red, violet or green along the collarbone. White zircon gives the most twinkle, because zircon bends light into rainbow flashes almost as strongly as diamond does.

The stones line up with four birth months too: January's garnet, February's amethyst, October's tourmaline and December's zircon.

Storing a Fine Chain Necklace

Desiregem lists the metal as 18K gold plated brass, a layer of gold over a brass base rather than solid gold. Fine chains and small bars are happiest stored fastened and laid flat, or hung, so the links never knot around the pattern. Close the clasp before you put it away and it will come out ready to wear.

Star Pattern Necklace for Everyday

Which stone gives the most sparkle? White zircon. The colored stones look rich and calm, while the zircon version flashes whenever you move.

Is green tourmaline a birthstone? Yes, October claims tourmaline among its birthstones, which makes the green version a natural October gift.

Will the pattern twist on the neck? It stays put, since the stones are joined by bars and the chain attaches at both ends of the pattern, so it lies straight along the collarbone.
