This is not a sugar scrub. The published list runs jojoba beads, retinol, coconut oil, olive oil, aloe vera, alpha hydroxy acid and vitamins A and C, which puts three separate exfoliating mechanisms in one jar. This is the strongest product AMINNAH makes for the chest, and it deserves to be approached that way.

  • Jojoba beads, not sugar. Round, uniform spheres that roll instead of cutting.
  • Alpha hydroxy acid in the formula. Chemical exfoliation sitting alongside the mechanical kind.
  • Retinol on top of both. Three demands on one patch of thin skin.

Jojoba Beads Instead Of Sugar

Sugar and salt are crushed crystals with edges. Jojoba beads are manufactured spheres of jojoba wax, uniform in size and round on every side, so they roll across the surface rather than dragging across it. The mechanical part of this scrub is the gentlest in the whole range, which is precisely why the rest of the formula can be as active as it is.

Acid Does The Work The Beads Do Not

An alpha hydroxy acid loosens the bonds between surface cells chemically, reaching evenly across an area in a way hand pressure never can. That is the trade being made here: soft beads for physical work, acid for the depth. It is a more sophisticated design than a sugar scrub and it demands more respect from whoever uses it.

Sun Matters More With An Acid In The Mix

Alpha hydroxy acids raise how sensitive treated skin is to sunlight, and retinol does the same. Both are in this jar. Use it in the evening, and keep the chest covered or shaded the following day. On an area exposed by every summer neckline, that is not a footnote.

Who Should Not Use This

Anyone new to actives should start with something simpler and come back to this later. Skin that is broken, sunburned or freshly shaved should not meet an acid at all. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are reasons to check with a clinician, as with any retinol. And nobody needs this more than once a week.

Questions About Raspberry Vanilla Boob Scrub

Is it harsher than a sugar scrub? Physically it is gentler, because the beads are round. Chemically it is stronger, because of the acid and the retinol.

How often is safe? Once a week is enough for almost everyone. Twice is the absolute ceiling and only on skin already used to acids.

Can it be layered with another active? Not on the same evening. Give the chest a clear night either side of it.
