Nail Base Coat

A camouflage base coat is thicker and tinted where an ordinary clear base coat is thin and invisible, so it fills shallow ridges and evens the nail plate before any color goes on. Float one thin layer over the nail, cure it, and apply gel polish straight on top. Choose a camouflage base when the surface underneath is uneven, because color laid on a flat base looks smoother in one coat than it does in two on a ridged one.
