An oversized throw blanket is anything bigger than the standard 50 by 60 inches, and those extra inches decide where it can go. At 50 by 70 a throw reaches from shoulders to toes on the sofa and hangs over each side of a queen mattress, while 60 by 84 covers the whole top of a queen bed. Measure the sofa or bed you have in mind first, then choose the fabric by season, bamboo muslin and linen for warm months and cotton knit when it turns cool.
