Jelly Face Mask

A jelly face mask holds its water in a gel matrix, and that matrix is the point: it slows evaporation so the humectants underneath get fifteen or twenty minutes of contact instead of the two a thin liquid would give them. Leave it on until it starts to feel tacky, then pat the remainder in rather than rinsing it away. Reach for a jelly mask when skin feels tight rather than dull, because this is a hydration step and not an exfoliating one.
