Insulated Server

An insulated server holds serving temperature with no cord and no flame, whether that is a metal bell lined with felt and lowered over a whole teapot or a polished dome sealing a pocket of warm air above a plate. It suits the slow table, where the last cup gets poured long after the first and the plates travel a hallway before they are eaten. Choose insulation over reheating, and read each maker's own figure for how long a covered piece holds its heat, since those numbers come from the maker rather than from us.
